Jim is President and founder of InCap Group, Inc. He is responsible for the overall development and direction of the firm. He participates in every client assignment. Earlier in Jim’s tenure at InCap Group, he managed a fund administration, fund accounting, and transfer agency business that specialized in providing services to mutual funds.
Prior to founding InCap, Jim served as the Chief Administrative Officer of Legg Mason’s Asset Management operations. During Jim’s tenure at Legg Mason, the firm’s assets under management increased by more than six-fold and Legg Mason was transformed from a regional broker-dealer and asset manager to one of the 20 largest asset management firms in the U.S. Jim’s responsibilities included oversight of Legg Mason’s Asset Management businesses, M&A activity and product launches. Previously, Jim was Legg Mason’s Associate General Counsel.
Earlier in his career, Jim practiced corporate and securities law at Covington & Burling in Washington, D.C. Jim has served on the Board of the Forum for Investor Advice and the Board of the Historic Charles Street Association and has been a member of the Institutional Investor’s International Mutual Fund Institute. Additionally, he has taught the Mergers and Acquisitions course at the University of Maryland School of Law. Jim is a graduate of Yale Law School (Editor of the Yale Law Journal) and Franklin & Marshall College (Phi Beta Kappa, with Departmental Honors in Government and History).
- Jaime CarvalloMANAGING DIRECTOR
Jaime is a Managing Director at InCap Group focused on M&A, valuations, capital raises, and other strategic assignments. Prior to InCap, he co-founded Park Sutton Advisors, an investment banking boutique based in New York. At Park Sutton Advisors, Jaime focused on middle-market M&A and strategic advisory work in the financial services sector for 10 years working with asset and wealth managers, broker-dealers, and fund administrators globally.
Prior to Park Sutton Advisors, Jaime spent a decade advising Latin American high-net-worth individuals and families representing over $500 million in assets. Most recently, he was a Private Banker with Deutsche Bank, actively involved in developing the Andean Region client base for the bank’s New York office.
Prior to Deutsche Bank, Jaime spent over 9 year with HSBC Private Bank and The Citigroup Private Bank, also focused on developing the Andean Region market and advising wealthy Latin American clients on their wealth management needs. From 1995 through 1999, Jaime was a corporate banker with Banco de Credito del Peru, the country’s largest commercial bank, managing a significant portfolio of loans and performing credit analyses for some of Peru’s largest private corporations.
Jaime is a dual Peruvian-Italian citizen and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Lima, Peru. He also holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance, Marketing, and Strategic Management from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Jaime enjoys working out and XX Century Decorative Arts.
- Simon TsaiASSOCIATE
Simon is an Associate at InCap Group and is actively involved in all of the firm’s engagements. He is also responsible for some of the firm’s operations. Prior to InCap, Simon worked as a financial analyst for a family fund in Taiwan, generating weekly trade reports and performing evaluations specifically on financial industry stocks. Simon’s recommendations were instrumental in the firm’s deciding to buy numerous stocks.
Simon received his MS in Finance degree from Johns Hopkins University and was also a Teaching Assistant in the Investments course. Prior to pursuing his Master’s at Johns Hopkins University, he completed his undergraduate degree in Finance from National Chung Hsing University, in Taiwan. He has a Senior Securities Specialist Certificate in Taiwan and is currently working towards a CFA. Simon enjoys playing sports and working out in his free time.
